Mohamed Salah may have just helped decide next big Man United transfer deal

Liverpool's transfer incomings are done for the current transfer window according to reports, yet the club continue to be linked with names from across Europe. The latest player to be tipped with a move to Anfield is Ajax's Antony.

The Brazilian forward has been the subject of Manchester United rumours throughout the summer. Erik ten Hag seems keen to restore their relationship after the pair worked together in Amsterdam last season.

Antony is regarded as a top talent, but the Red Devils seem likely to benefit from a free run at his services in the market. Jurgen Klopp seems highly unlikely to move for the 22-year-old, largely because of Mohamed Salah's presence in his squad.

The Egyptian international recently signed a new long-term contract on Merseyside after months of speculation, committing his future to the Reds for the next three years.

By doing so, Salah effectively rendered links with Antony as somewhat redundant, as the duo are comparable in type upon inspection of what they offer on the field.

Both players prefer to operate on the right side of the pitch and crucially, the two attackers are also left-footed, demonstrating a preference for cutting inside before driving towards goal using their favoured foot.

Salah's injury record is largely flawless. Across each of his five campaigns at Liverpool, he's averaged roughly 33.6 starts per Premier League season. He's started 168 games from a possible 190 in England's top-flight and that seems destined to remain unchanged.
