Mo Sylla health scare latest as Tony Docherty waits for return green light after Dundee collapse

Mo Sylla returned to Dundee’s training centre on Monday but is still waiting for the green light to return to action.

The French midfielder went into an anaphylactic shock and collapsed in front of his stunned teammates at half-time in Saturday’s home clash with Aberdeen. Sylla was taken to hospital and detained overnight before he was discharged on Sunday.

Manager Tony Docherty confirmed: “Mo came into the training ground today. He wasn’t training but he came in for our team meeting. It was an anaphylactic shock. He got out of hospital on Sunday morning. It wasn’t nice to see that, particularly his teammates seeing that. But I have to say the response of his teammates has been brilliant, rallying round and showing a real togetherness.

“That is the one thing that has come out of this: Mo is a really popular figure, as we know. He is better now and although he has not got the all-clear, he is back in the building in a non-training capacity. I am waiting for the medical staff to give me the return to play details. I hope he will be back quickly but the most important thing is Mo, his health and making sure he is okay.”

Docherty was also irked by the fact there was only three minutes stoppage time against Aberdeen, as they chased an equaliser. He is adamant it should have been more than double that and he is seeking a discussion with the head of refereeing Willie Collum.

Docherty confirmed: “The club did a timeline on Saturday’s game, based on stoppages for substitutes, VAR and players going down injured, like their goalkeeper. It worked out at a minimum of 7 minutes and 10 seconds. That was a bare minimum. 7 minutes should have been added on.
