The Milwaukee Brewers say they are unaware of the status of several players in Venezuela after the U.S. military conducted strikes on the country and took President Nicolás Maduro into custody.

Brewers president of baseball operations Matt Arnold revealed the team is unaware of the status of the players in a statement Saturday.

"We don’t have much info at the moment but are trying to follow up," Arnold said, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "We know the airports have been shut down but not much beyond that."

The team's players in Venezuela include star outfielder Jackson Chourio, infielder Andruw Monasterio and catcher Jeferson Quero, according to the outlet.

The U.S. military's recent strike comes after targeting alleged drug-smuggling boats in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific.

Forces carried out a "large scale strike" in Venezuela early Saturday morning and took Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife into custody, President Donald Trump confirmed.

The president wrote on Truth Social that the operation was successful and Maduro and his wife were "captured and flown out of the country." Trump said the operation was conducted with U.S. law enforcement.
