MJF's issues with AEW will not stop WWE making him a 'big contract offer'

WWE are reportedly keeping an eye on the ongoing situation between MJF and his relationship with AEW. 

This past weekend MJF caused controversy after first no-showing for a meet and greet fan event and then flying straight out of Las Vegas following his defeat to Wardlow in the Double or Nothing opener. 

Over recent weeks, Friedman’s contract has provoked much conversation, with the 26-year-old reportedly relucent to agree a new deal with AEW when his contract runs out in 2024 after butting heads with owner Tony Khan over the situation. 

It is known that WWE would be interested in bringing MJF to the company, and according to Wade Keller on the recent PWTorch audio show he is still converted by WWE. While Maxwell has said to be impressed with how Cody Rhodes’ return has been portrayed by WWE since he made the jump from AEW.  

“A source within WWE with knowledge of MJF’s stature among top WWE management indicates MJF is coveted and would likely be given a lucrative contract offer. In fact, it’s more than one source giving me information that with a big overlap on this. More than one source says that the treatment Cody has received by WWE on and off-air has given MJF a good impression of how he’d be featured in WWE if he were to make the jump. In other words, if Cody was buried or was given promises that weren’t kept, maybe MJF would be handling this differently.”

Keller also noted that MJF’s recent off-air behaviour, wouldn’t stop WWE from offering him a big contract to bring him to the company.
