Mixed round leaves Leona Maguire six off HSBC Women's World Championship lead
A second consecutive 70 has left Leona Maguire six shots off the lead at the halfway stage of the HSBC Women's World Championship.
The Cavan native is on four under heading into the weekend at the Sentosa Golf Club course in Singapore, having matched her opening round score, sitting in a tie for 21st.
Maguire made a strong start to Friday's second round, with four birdies on the front nine that led her to surge up the leaderboard.
But a bogey on nine dented that momentum and the back nine proved more up and down with one birdie on 16 between bogeys on 10 and 18.
USA's Danielle Kang leads the way on 10 under after a blistering 63, which leaves her a shot clear of a chasing pack which includes Allisen Corpuz, Hyo-Joo Kim and Elizabeth Szokol, the latter of registering sub-70 rounds to move into contention.
