Missing mother and baby found ‘safe and well’ after appeal in MEN

A mother and her baby son who went missing from their home in Manchester have been found “safe and well”, police have said, following an appeal and publicity in the MEN.

It was around 4pm on Saturday when it was first noticed that Sascha Collier, 29, and six-month-old Clay were missing from their home in the Blackley area of the city. In a short statement released late yesterday evening (Tuesday, August 9), Greater Manchester Police said: “They have been found safe and well.”

In an earlier report in the Manchester Evening News, an urgent appeal was issued to help find the missing woman and baby. It was not known exactly when they were last seen but an alarm was raised and Superintendent Sarah Morton issued a plea for Sascha to get in touch. Police said that they did not know what they were wearing when they vanished, but it was believed that Sascha had taken Clay's pram with her.

North Manchester Police issued an appeal on social media saying that the woman's family were concerned for their safety. New images, one of Sascha and Clay together, were shared in a desperate attempt to find them.

I ask anyone who may have seen them since 4pm on Saturday to share that information with us as soon as possible. I also ask members of the public to be on the lookout for this young mum and her baby."

In a direct plea to the mother, she added: "Sascha, if you’re reading this, please contact us or someone trustworthy so we can check that you and
