Missing Jay Slater latest: Tenerife resident lifts lid on two men who partied with missing teen

A Tenerife local has shed new light on the two British men Jay Slater partied with prior to his disappearance.

The 19-year-old has been missing since Monday morning after he went off with the pair after attending a three-day music festival. He appeared to have been trying to walk back to the south of the island when he phoned friend Lucy Mae Law on Monday morning, saying his battery was at just 1pc, The Mirror reports.

Police have since been searching in a rural mountainous area in the north west of Tenerife where he was last located, near to the village of Masca. Now light has been shed on the two men he was with on the Sunday night as pictures emerge of the rental property, Casa Abuela Tina, he had reportedly been at.

A woman named only as Araceli, who works in the business adjoining the rental property, said: “I never saw the missing boy, but I know people saw him walking on his own. I saw the two British men who stayed here.

“They came in for cafe con leche a couple of times. One was aged about 40. The other one was slightly younger.” She added: “The police have spoken to them both.

“They arrived on Saturday and we’re due to stay until Monday, but they left on Tuesday.” Asked if they had to stay to be interviewed by police, she said: “I don’t know”.

The property is listed online as a holiday home and is understood to have been rented by the two men Jay was with the night before his disappearance. It is understood they checked out yesterday before flying back to Britain. Jay posted a photo of himself holding a cigarette on its steps shortly before going missing.

Friend Lucy Mae Law raised the alarm after receiving a call from Jay, an apprentice bricklayer
