Miranda Hart's worried husband finds her 'weeping' at the kitchen table 'pretty much everday'

Miranda Hart has opened up about her emotional nature, revealing that her husband Richard Fairs often finds her "having a weep" at the kitchen table.

The 52-year-old TV star confesses to tearing up "pretty much every day" which initially worried Richard until he grew accustomed to it.

Miranda identifies as a "highly sensitive person," a trait she believes she inherited from her father, David Hart Dyke, and one that her mother, Diana Luce, found difficult to comprehend, reports Leicestershire Live.

On the Therapy Works podcast, Miranda shared: "I have a weep pretty much everyday, certainly every other day, usually a weep of joy but sometimes my husband will find me just sitting at the kitchen table and he's got used to it now. Normally he would rush like 'oh my god, are you alright? ' but I'm just letting something go, I'm absolutely fine, it'll be over in five minutes."

She continued, "Now he just comes in 'hello' and the tears are pouring down. He doesn't bat an eyelid. But my mother never understood that."

Miranda is renowned for her lead role in the BBC sitcom Miranda and has featured in several successful TV series including Call The Midwife and The Vicar of Dibley.

Miranda and Richard married in secret in 2023, three years after their romance began. However, the star announced the marriage in her book I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You.

During an appearance on The One Show, the actress and comedian shared: "I'm married, I got married at 51 and it's just so lovely. I'd written Gary for onscreen Miranda and it wasn't until I was 49 that I met my person. He's my best friend, we had the best fun and I'm just thrilled to be a young bride at 51."

Miranda will be appearing on Michael McIntyre's Big Show on BBC One
