Miranda Hart on brink of tears as she reveals horrific 15-year health battle

Miranda Hart has opened up about her harrowing experience with Lyme Disease, which at one point left her feeling as if she "couldn't pick up a glass of water." The beloved 'Call the Midwife' actress spoke candidly about her struggle since stepping away from the limelight.

In an emotional interview with Emma Barnett on BBC Radio 4, Miranda shared her journey of battling the disease and her desire to support others facing similar challenges.

She added that she has now come to "forgive" medical professionals who initially dismissed her condition, stressing: "All anyone wants is to be heard, accepted, loved and seen."

Miranda emphasised the importance of being listened to, especially in medical contexts, saying: "When you're not particularly in a medical situation, it's the worst. It really is and so there is hope. I think your instincts are right. That for me is the absolute key, that your body does tell you the truth. Keep researching what's right for you," reports Wales Online.

Reflecting on her own ordeal, she expressed empathy for those who might feel as she did a decade ago: "I know it's exhausting, but I'm getting emotional just to think now that there could be somebody who felt like me 10 years ago listening to this."

During the conversation, Miranda had to pause to compose herself, overwhelmed by the memories of her struggle: "This reaction is how hard it is. So yeah, you're not alone and I hope this book helps."
