Mino Raiola: Agent's Twitter account confirms he is still alive after death claims

Football super agent Mino Raiola remains in a critical condition in a Milan hospital after rumours that he had passed away on Thursday afternoon were confirmed to be incorrect.

Just after midday, reports began to emerge from Italy suggesting that the 54-year-old had died.

Journalist Tancredi Palmeri was among the first to post regarding Raiola’s health on Twitter, writing that the Italian had passed away ‘after illness’.

However, a little over an hour after those initial reports, a response from the agent’s official Twitter account flatly denied the allegations.

“Current health status for the ones wondering: p***** off. Second time in 4 months they kill me,” wrote Raiola. “Seem also able to ressuscitate.”

Raiola was admitted to hospital back in January for as a ‘delicate surgery’, after which false reports of his death also circulated on social media.

“These are scheduled checks, there has been no emergency intervention,” said Raiola on social media following that hospital stay.

In response to today’s rumours, noted transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted to express his anger at the speculation.

“I’m outraged by the phone calls from pseudo-journalists speculating on the life of a man who is fighting to survive”.

Having worked his way up from humble beginnings, Raiola acts as representative for some of the biggest names in the game, representing the likes of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Erling Haaland, Marco Verratti, Gianluigi Donnarumma among many other stars.

No stranger to negotiating big-money deals, Raiola had been expected to play a major role in blockbuster summer transfers for both Pogba and Haaland. Clearly now, he has a much more serious fight on his hands.
