Minjee Lee makes her move at US Women's Open

Australia's Minjee Lee shot a four-under 67 on Saturday to open up a three-shot lead over Mina Harigae after three rounds of the US Women's Open at Pine Needles.

Lee's 13-under fell short of the 54-hole record, a 15-under set by Juli Inkster at Old Waverly in 1999. Lee shot 67-66 the first two rounds and is on 13-under overall.

FULL LEADERBOARD

Leona Maguire continues to move well. The Cavan golfer is on five-under after a fine three-under 68 - her best round of the tournament so far. Steohanie Meadow missed the cut on Friday.

Lee separated herself from Harigae with four straight birdies on holes 9 to 12. She had five overall to go with one bogey.

Lee, 26, is looking to win the second major title of her career. She rallied from seven strokes behind to beat South Korea's Jeongeun Lee in a play-off at the 2021 Evian Championship in France.

This time around, Lee has nobody to catch. Instead, she will be looking to fend off Harigae and anyone else who makes a charge.

Harigae shot one-under 70 to follow up rounds of 64 and 69. She carded four birdies but was hurt by three bogeys, including back-to-back ones on the par-fours at 11 and 12.

England's Bronte Law is in third place at seven-under after carding a 68.

Law recorded four birdies on the back nine and had five overall. She had two bogeys in the first six holes before stepping up her play.
