Minecraft: Players can now be banned from all multiplayer servers

A new update to Minecraft is going to change how moderation bans work in the game, and could see players banned from every single multiplayer server, as per NME.

Minecraft’s developers have already begun to outline what players can expect from an update that is launching next week, titled the 1.19.1 update.

An article posted by the developers said: “Along with the support for reporting chat, reported players can now be banned from online play and Realms after moderator review.

“The game will show a notice screen on startup if you have been banned from online play. The reason for the ban is shown as well as how long the ban is valid for.”

Players that have been punished for breaching the Minecraft community guidelines will also be given a new UI.

It could be seen as a harsh way of dealing with players who have breached the rules but the community guidelines are there for a reason, and the bans, Mojang hope, will likely see a reduction in players breaking the rules.

Minecraft receives consistent updates to keep the game fresh and the report also claims that the new update will change the Allay mob, too. The cooldown for them will increase to five minutes.

The game was last updated on June 7, when the Wild update was added into the game and brought with it two new biomes – Deep Dark and Mangrove Swamp.

The Deep Dark biomes are, as expected, found underground, while the Mangrove Swamp gives players access to boats that can also carry chests, handing players an unparalleled amount of storage space.

We’ll let you know when the new patch goes live and will also report any further changes made by the developers.
