Millwall receive team news boost ahead of QPR game
Ballard, who is on loan from Arsenal for the remainder of the season, underwent knee surgery in December.
The defender played for the U23s side in order to regain some fitness, but is hoping to return to the first team squad this week.
The 22-year old had been a prominent presence in the Millwall side, before being sidelined through injury.
Ballard has featured 19 times in the Lions’ Championship campaign so far this season.
Gary Rowett’s side have dropped to 15th in the table in Ballard’s absence, falling nine points adrift of the play-off places.
Millwall have only won two of their last seven league games, which has played a big role in their decline through the table.
Next up for the side is a London derby with QPR this evening at The Den.
This is a much needed boost to the Millwall side. Rowett will be hoping Ballard can retain his fitness to the end of the season.
The defender performed well for the side in the first half of the season.
His return could help the side get their form back on track, following a drop-off in results in January.
Millwall will certainly be hoping he can slot right back into the team, and that the injury wouldn’t have slowed down his development too much.
