If you’ve visited a Miller & Carter restaurant, you’ll know they serve you a wedge of lettuce before your steak arrives at the table - but perhaps you don’t know why. If you’ve not been, the wedge is a triple-layered serving of lettuce that will be plated on the table with a polished knife.

It’s served three minutes before the steak arrives while it is resting. The steakhouse has recently spoken on social media providing what they call a “wedgucation” on why they serve your steak with lettuce.

According to the food chain, the wedge is ‘a refreshing appetiser which perfectly compliments the rich flavours of steak’. The wedge provides a cold crisp texture to accompany the steak.
