Milford Haven fire live updates as several crews respond and people told 'stay indoors'

Fire and rescue crews were dealing with an incident that involved 150 vehicles on fire in the Milford Haven area of Pembrokeshire. Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said on Monday they were called to the incident at a commercial premises in the Waterston Industrial Estate at around 11.09am, with crews from several towns called.

The incident required a multi-agency response, with Dyfed-Powys Police, the Ambulance Service and council also in attendance. Nearby residents have also been evacuated from their properties. Residents that live nearby and were affected by the smoke were advised to stay indoors, close windows and doors, and turn off any air conditioning or ventilation units.

People who travelled through areas and were also affected by smoke were advised to keep windows closed, turn off air conditioning and keep air vents closed. A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the crews responded to approximately 150 vehicles on fire at the height of the incident, with 12 fire appliances in attendance.

The fire and rescue service confirmed that crews began to leave the scene at 2.11pm. In a statement, a spokesperson for the fire and rescue service said: "At 11.09am on Monday, April 15th, the Milford Haven, Pembroke Dock, Narberth, Fishguard, Carmarthen, Tenby and Haverfordwest crews were called to an incident at a commercial premises in the Waterston Industrial Estate, Milford Haven. Crews responded to approximately 150 vehicles on fire, at the height of the incident, 12 fire appliances were in attendance. Crews utilised six breathing apparatus sets, nine hose reel jets, two ground monitors and approximately 1,000 litres of foam to extinguish the fire.
