Mikel Arteta's dream Arsenal starting XI if Serge Gnabry completes transfer from Bayern Munich

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be keen to strengthen his squad this summer not only to deal with the rigours of a Europa League campaign but to go one better than last season and deliver a top-four finish. And one area the Spaniard is rumoured to be keen on strengthening is his attacking options.

One name, in particular, the Gunners have been linked with is a move for former star and Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry. The 26-year-old left the club after failing to establish himself under former manager Arsene Wenger, eventually joining Werder Bremen in 2016.

Moving back to his homeland revitalised his career and just two years later Gnabry was plying his trade at the Allianz Arena. Since joining Bayern, the German international has scored 64 goals and registered 40 assists in 171 appearances.

Gnabry is right-footed and predominantly operates on the right-wing which would certainly give the Gunners a different dimension from the left-footed Bukayo Saka. He can also play on the left and as a central striker so would offer flexibility and additional cover in those areas.

He would also bring a winning mentality to the dressing room having won four Bundesliga titles and the Champions League during his four seasons at Bayern. However, despite his impressive form for the German giants, Gnabry is out of contract next summer which could tempt Julian Nagelsmann’s side to cash in on his considerable talents this summer.
