Mikel Arteta reveals what Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko have brought Arsenal from Man City

Mikel Arteta admits the summer signings of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City have brought something different to Arsenal's Premier League title challenge.

The pair swapped the north west for north London during the summer transfer window, becoming pivotal parts of Arteta's team overnight. Jesus and Zinchenko won four Premier League titles together as City players and have brought that experience to a dressing room which was otherwise lacking in that department.

Mentally, Arteta explains the impact their additions to the group have had and the high standards they have brought with them from past successes in England.

"The boys who have won it brought something different to the team as they have experienced those moments," Arteta explained at Friday's press conference. "They know that we have to seek excellence against the opposition we play against, and it has to be perfect in everything we do to earn the chance to be there.

"Another thing is to win it, but we are there, and now we have to win it, so we have to be exceptional at everything we do."

Arteta has also admitted that goal difference is on the team's mind with eight games to go. City have scored three more and conceded two fewer than their fellow title contenders, giving them the edge should the two teams finish level on points.

"We think about everything," the Arsenal boss added. "Obviously, we want to win matches first, earn the right to win them, and then score as many goals as possible. You have to be open to every single possibility."
