Mike Tyson's final in-ring post-fight interview as a professional boxer

Mike Tyson called it a day on his professional boxing career almost two decades ago when he lost his final match in the ring against Kevin McBride.

It was a painful fight for Tyson fans, with the former heavyweight champion struggling in large parts of the fight, with a knockdown in the sixth round the defining moment.

After going back to his stool, Tyson didn’t resurface for round seven, giving McBride the biggest win of his career, and only notable victory, but sending Iron Mike into retirement isn’t a bad thing to have on your CV.

That final fight with McBride summed it up perfectly for Tyson who landed some big shots, but also resorted to dirty, illegal tactics, even being deducted a couple of points for a deliberate headbutt on his opponent.

Iron Mike also looked to break the Irishman’s arm too, something he had done earlier in his career against Francois Botha in 1999.

However, despite all the controversy, he goes down as an all-time great, striking fear into almost every opponent that dared step in the ring with him, the former heavyweight champion retired with an impressive 50-6 record which included 44 knockout victories.

After his defeat to McBride, Tyson delivered an emotional post-fight interview where he confirmed his retirement, he said: “I would have like to have continued but as soon as I was getting beat on I realised I don’t think I have it anymore.

“I got the ability to stay in shape, but I don’t got the fighting guts I don’t think anymore… I’m just sorry I let everyone down, I don’t have this in my heart anymore.

“I’m just fighting to take care of my bills basically, I don’t have the stomach for this anymore, I’m more conscious of my children and those guys, I’m looking at my opponents, I just don’t
