Mike Tyson reveals his wife has told him to stop flying on public planes after recent altercation

Boxing legend Mike Tyson says his wife has told him to stop flying on public planes – after he was filmed repeatedly punching a fellow passenger in the face onboard a flight.

The former heavyweight world champion, 55, was involved in a melee with Melvin George Towsend III on a JetBlue flight last month.

Footage recorded by a fellow passenger showed Tyson, aka ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’, laying into Townsend, who was left battered and bruised.

However, Townsend declined to press charges, after additional footage showed him repeatedly goading the retired boxer.

Tyson’s legal team released a statement thanking the San Mateo District Attorney, County Sheriff, and all law enforcement agencies involved for their due diligence.

It read: “We thank San Mateo District Attorney Stephen Wagstaffe, the San Mateo County Sheriff, and all law enforcement agencies involved in this investigation for their careful, diligent, and professional work.”

Now wife Lakiha Spencer has told her husband to avoid public transport in an effort to stop him from getting involved in this kind of situation again.

Tyson, who is one of the co-hosts of his hugely successful podcast called Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, said: “Yes, they said they ain’t gonna pick up charges.

“He was f****** with me. I took pictures with this n****. I shouldn’t even be taking public planes.

“My wife gets mad when I take public planes. What am I going to do on a f****** plane with my friends and [a bodyguard] he’s supposed to watch me? A bodyguard and a f****** yes man.

“What am I gonna [sic] do on a plane? It triggers me.”
