Mike Tyson breaks down in emotional admission over violence during his career

Boxing legend Mike Tyson made an emotional confession regarding his infamous violence on the latest episode of his podcast, Hotboxin’, in which he spoke to his therapist Seano and music artist DJ Whoo Kid.

The youngest ever world heavyweight champion was both widely renowned and widely feared for his violence during the peak of his career.

Tyson’s violence and ferocious style brought him unrivalled success in the ring, being the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990, and even earning himself the nickname, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’.

However, despite what many may assume about Tyson’s violence and tough image, the now 57-year-old explained on his podcast that his extreme violence is a direct result of the extreme fear that he often feels.

In response to his therapist Seano telling him that he is “a scared little boy sometimes”, Tyson confirms his therapist’s thesis, claiming that:

“I am so scared, that I am so violent. I can’t control my violence, because I am scared.”

Tyson then goes on to acknowledge the potential dichotomy in his statement and how it can be difficult to understand that ‘The Baddest Man on The Planet’ is full of fear, asking DJ Whoo Kid: “Does that make any sense to you? Me, Mike Tyson, I’m so f***ing scared of everything!”

The International Boxing Hall of Famer continues to explain that “Only thing I know how to do is attack when I feel that way.”

Iron Mike’s confessions may be a shock to some considering his rather fearless (not fearful) image. However, on a deeper look, his revelations make a lot of sense considering the very difficult upbringing that he famously suffered.
