Midfielder opens up on transfer as Leicester City backed to finish season on a high

Here is the latest Leicester City news on Sunday, 21 May, 2022, ahead of the final game of the season.

Brentford midfielder Christian Eriksen has said he "had an idea" of where his future could lie after the end of the season, amid reported interest from Leicester City.

The Danish international is out of contract in the summer, meaning he will be available on a free transfer. City are one of the teams said to be interested in making a move for the 30-year-old.

Eriksen made a return to football with Brentford back in January, just five months after suffering a cardiac arrest when representing Denmark at Euro 2020. The midfielder was playing for Inter Milan at the time, but Serie A rules meant he wasn’t allowed to play in Italy with the internal defibrillator he had fitted after the incident.
