Middlesbrough reveal how many season cards they've sold so far ahead of the new season

Middlesbrough have so far sold over 18,000 season cards for the new season. The season cards are now back on sale, with the club promoting a big drive for sales with Chris Wilder hoping for a big push from everyone to help the club seal promotion back to the Premier League.

Wilder is ambitious with his targets to get Boro back to the top flight and is working hard with club officials this summer to strengthen the squad to hopefully make that a reality. The club have already secured the services of Liam Roberts, Ryan Giles and Darragh Lenihan, but plenty more new faces are expected through the door before the season opener against West Brom on Saturday, July 30.

And while ultimately it's the players on the pitch who will have the biggest sway in how successful Boro's season will be, supporters absolutely can play their part as was evidenced last term as Boro went on an incredible nine-match winning run on home turf, including an impressive victory over Tottenham in the FA Cup. The eight straight home league wins even equalled a Riverside record.

Wilder said this week: “There’s no short-cuts, there’s plenty of work going on and we’re all looking to get stuck in. Everyone is in good shape and that shows me they understand we mean business. The fans I’ve seen on holiday – there are Boro fans wherever you go - they’re all looking forward to the new season. We’ve got to set ourselves up for what we hope will be an enjoyable and successful campaign.”
