Michelin Guide 2023 live: The Welsh restaurants awarded stars
The launch of the 2023 Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland takes place on Monday evening when chefs across the country will find out if they've won a coveted star (or stars) for the next year. The awards - held at the Silverstone Circuit in Northampton - will be held in person for 2023 for the first time in three years.
All of this year’s Michelin Star recipients will be announced from 6pm as well as a handful of special awards including the Michelin Green Stars.
Ahead of the event Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guides, said: “After two years without being able to organise a physical event in Great Britain & Ireland, we are thrilled to be back with what should be a warm, exciting and friendly gathering. The Michelin Guide team is on hand and busy organising a celebration to fully reflect the talent, commitment and resilience of the British and Irish gastronomic scenes – a celebration all the more welcome in the current challenging economic climate.”
Wales currently has seven Michelin starred restaurants. They are: Ynyshir in Machynlleth, SY23 in Aberystwyth, Home in Penarth, The Whitebrook in Monmouthshire, The Beach House in Oxwich Bay, The Walnut Tree near Abergavenny and Sosban and the Old Butchers in Menai Bridge on Anglesey.
