Michael Steinwender's Hearts dream may be impossible but new recruit aiming high after big sell from best mate

It may appear like an impossible dream but Michael Steinwender hasn’t just set his mind on a title with Hearts - he’s after a double.

The Austrian defender’s admits he’s a man in a hurry after arriving last week on deal until the summer of 2028 and he’s laid out some bold ambitions. Six decades and more have passed since a league and cup triumph was achieved by the Tynecastle club but the 24-year-old insists there’s no shame in sitting the bar as high as possible during his time in Edinburgh.

He said: “I want to win titles as my ambitions are very high. Whether that’s the cup or the league but of course the best would be both. I think everybody in the team is quite ambitious. I think every professional football player has dreams and it would be not good to not have dreams and just to finish the league. I think everybody in our team has dreams and I will do everything I can to achieve them.”
