Michael Owen shares Rangers vs Braga prediction as 'fortress Ibrox' sways pundit's decision
Michael Owen reckons the rapturous Ibrox atmosphere will prove to be the difference ahead of Rangers Europa League quarter final second leg tie with Braga - citing it as a "fortress".
It's all to play for after Abel Ruiz scored the only goal in Portugal last Thursday to set up a momentous occasion in Glasgow.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst 's men bounced back from two defeats on the bounce with a convincing 4-0 win against St Mirren on Sunday.
And now the former Manchester United star believes panic buttons shouldn't have been pressed after the first leg defeat and that a packed Ibrox on a European night should play a major role in turning things around.
“Losing 1-0 in Braga wasn’t a disaster for Rangers,” Owen told BetVictor.
“Braga are a decent side and were probably worth the win.
"Rangers did have a few moments in that game, but this will be a different match.
“Ibrox has been such a fortress for them in Europe, and I think that will be the difference. I think they’ll go through, 2-0 to Rangers.”
This week could define Rangers season as they face a Scottish Cup semi final against Celtic just three days after the Braga clash.
