Michael Owen shares message on daughter Gemma after ITV Love Island finale as fans 'work out' why he missed parents episode

Michael Owen has shared his reaction to his daughter Gemma Owen finishing Love Island 2022 in second place. The former footballer's daughter entered the Mallorcan villa back in June as one of the original contestants in the ITV2 dating show this year. After a couple of partner swaps, she found herself with Luca Bish.

Posting a photo of himself and his daughter in a restaurant, former Manchester United and Liverpool star Michael wrote on Twitter: "She’s done us proud."

At the start of the series back in June he joked that he’d gone “all the way to Germany” to “avoid” watching his daughter on the show when he was quizzed on Gemma's Love Island entrance while commentating on an England’s Nations League match.

He also missed the 'Meet the Parents' episode on Sunday (July 30) with Gemma's mum Louise and friend Sarah paying her a visit instead while Luca's mum and dad made the trip to the famous villa. But
