Michael Owen makes illuminating Ange claim amid Tottenham fury as he fears a 'big story is about to brew'

Former Liverpool and Manchester United star Michael Owen senses a "big story is about to brew" amid Ange Postecoglou's discontent at Tottenham.

The former Celtic boss delivered a savage takedown of the situation at Spurs after their defeat to Man City - during which he got into it with a fan who wanted them to LOSE to avoid handing Arsenal the title. He claimed the North London club are 'fragile' from top to bottom, frankly admitting he has a bigger job on his hands than he thought when he took over last summer.

He was no stranger to a spiky press conference at Celtic but this was another level. Former United and Liverpool star Owen reckons he's 'not a happy man' - and believes a bombshell is about to drop. Speaking on PLP, he said: "He doesn’t look happy, does he? I wonder what that could be. Whether he has had a meeting with the people above. Whether they were starting to look ahead to next season already, which would surprise me if he had.

"That’s a head-scratcher. But there is certainly something that’s affecting and annoying him, at the moment. That will come out in the hours and days to come. Not a happy man.

“When you think foundations. What can it be that has changed in the last 48 hours? It can’t be the playing squad. It can’t be the facilities. The training ground is probably the best in the country. The stadium is the best in the country. It has to be something up high. It has to be behind the scenes, a meeting with chief scouts, chairman or whoever it might be, in terms of recruitment. That will come out, I am sure, in the next few days because that seems like a very big story (is) about to brew.”
