Michael Beale is Queen's Park Rangers 'saviour' in waiting as door opens to controversial second coming

Michael Beale could return to Queen's Park Rangers after the Loftus Road side sacked manager Gareth Ainsworth - and social media is ablaze with chatter of a controversial second coming.

Beale left QPR for Rangers last year just weeks after knocking Wolves back and professing his loyalty to the club. His spell in Glasgow didn't go to plan though as he lasted less than a year out on his own, in the Ibrox hotseat, failing to emulate his former boss Steven Gerrard and bring any silverware to the club.

The manner of his departure left many at Loftus Road miffed but it hasn't exactly been rosey for them either in the year since. They replaced him with Gareth Ainsworth, but after defeat to Leicester left them second bottom of the Championship with just two wins after 14 games, he was shown the door on Saturday night.

One wrote: "It's inevitable because Ainsworth was the wrong fit does that mean that Michael Beale will be returning back to Loftus Road after he was fired by Rangers a few weeks ago? Possibly!"

Another, simply responding to the post announcing Ainsworth's sacking, jokingly said: "Michael Beale likes this."

One fan wrote: "This is SCREAMING for a Michael Beale return to save them," while another added: "I have a funny feeling that they are going back to Michael Beale..."

And another 'in the know' punter jokingly said: "Michael Beale" was in London a few days ago. Ball on the floor, pass and move, we are making the play offs..."
