Michael Beale brands Rangers the 'most wasteful I've ever seen' as fuming boss unleashes in post Aberdeen rant

Raging Michael Beale has blasted his Rangers team for being the "most wasteful team" he has ever seen.

The Light Blues boss took aim at his attacking players after wasting a number of chances in the his sides 1-0 win against Aberdeen at Ibrox earlier today. Todd Cantwell's volley was the difference between the two sides, but it was not enough to deny Celtic winning the Scottish Premiership title at Tynecastle. Ange Postecoglou's team have now secure back-to-back titles and are on course to win the Treble against Inverness Caley Thistle in the Scottish Cup final on June 3.

Beale's side had lost three out of their last four, including a Scottish Cup semi-final loss to Celtic at Hampden Park last Sunday, so will welcome a return to winning ways, albeit via a patchy performance. Gers made a bright start, with Cantwell twice going close from decent drives. Dons keeper Kelle Roos saved a Hagi header under pressure from Sakala before making a great block from the Zambia international's close-range drive, then saving a Tavernier shot just before the break.

Speaking after the game, Beale said: "I think we’re probably the most wasteful team in the final third I’ve ever seen. At both ends of the pitch, we're going to need to be a lot stronger next year.

"I'm delighted with the three points. We played some good football. We created some big chances. In the main, we were the better team.

"There's no doubt in my mind the level that Todd Cantwell can play at. He runs hard for the team, he gives everything out on the pitch. I'm delighted that he's getting goals and numbers."
