MHP Eco Energy continues to decarbonize its production

According to NPC Ukrenergo, in 2023, as a result of massive attacks on the Ukrainian power system, the loss of installed capacity increased to 27 GW. "From October-November, critical infrastructure will again be the key target of the enemy. But the problem is that the power system's safety margin is much smaller today than it was a year ago," said Oleksandr Dombrovsky, President of MHP Eco Energy.

After the experience of last winter's blackouts, we cannot relax and it is critical for the economy to be prepared. Today, Ukraine faces an extremely important task: to quickly switch from the centralized Soviet energy supply system to a functionally decentralized energy system using its own renewable resources.

MHP Eco Energy has commissioned another solar power plant with a capacity of almost 1200 kW for its own industrial needs. This is the 9th greening project since the beginning of the war: in July, MHP launched a 2600 kW solar power plant to decarbonize its own production. Already 5 out of 9 projects are operating with modern energy storage systems (BESS).

In addition, in December, MHP Eco Energy put into operation the first industrial energy storage system (Battery Energy Storage System) for the energy security needs of MHP with a capacity of 20 MW.

"In times of war, moving towards 100% green transformation and decarbonization is a serious challenge. At MHP Eco Energy, we systematically work in the direction of green energy and attract the best experts from Europe to implement projects. We don't just talk about the need for distributed generation, we put it into practice. And, of course, we are ready to share our experience with other businesses," comments Oleksandr Dombrovskyi, President of MHP Eco Energy.
