Meyers Leonard signed by Milwaukee Bucks for a 10-day contract: Report
NBA action since January 2021, Meyers Leonard has been signed by Milwaukee bucks, according to ESPN. Leonard found himself out of favour after he used an antisemitic slur. He went on to apologize for his comment.The incident happened in March 2021 while Leonard was streaming a video game on Twitch during his rehab following a surgery on his right leg. He was suspended by the NBA for week but his then team Miami Heat slapped him with an indefinite suspension before trading him to Oklahoma City Thunder. The Oklahoma franchise then released him.
The 7-footer worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers last month. He also told ESPN in an interview that he was sorry for his "ignorance" of the meaning of the slur he used."I said, you better go handle this and to show people what's in your heart ... I thought that it'd be easier to be dead than it would be to deal with what had just happened, because I want everyone to like me," Leonard said. "I don't hate anybody. I would never intentionally hurt anybody."Leonard was part of 447 games, which inclued 93 starts, with the Portland Trail Blazers and Miami Heat.
