Met Office says when rain could fall in Manchester ahead of Parklife weekend

The countdown is on until one of the country's biggest music festivals returns to Heaton Park. Excitement is building for the return of Parklife this weekend.

More than 80,000 people are expected to flock to the North Manchester park across June 8 and 9 to see some of the biggest names in pop and dance music - including Doja Cat, Becky Hill, Peggy Gou, Disclosure and noughties legends Sugababes. With two days left to go before the fun gets started, festival-goers will be planning their dazzling outfits for the weekend.

But the weather will be keeping partygoers on their toes as they plan ahead for the next few days. The Met Office forecast says when rain is expected to fall on Manchester.

Friday's forecast is for a cloudy morning, before light rain in the afternoon, making way for a dry but cloudy evening. The Met Office expects highs of 16C and lows of 11C in Manchester tomorrow.

As Parklife gets underway on Saturday, showers are expected in late morning and early afternoon, before a cloudy evening with some sunny spells. Festival-goers might need a sweater for after the shows come to an end, as temperatures are expected to climb no higher than 14C, with lows of 9C.

The Met Office expects a similar outlook for Sunday as well, with an overcast start before showers from late morning, before a cloudy afternoon. Temperatures could hit 15C, with lows of 10C.
