Meet the golden retriever who plays Lucky the Pizza Dog in Marvel’s Hawkeye

A golden retriever named Jolt is the canine cast member of Marvel’s Hawkeye .

The dog is set to star alongside the likes of Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Alaqua Cox and Florence Pugh as one-eyed Lucky the Pizza Dog.

Director of the Marvel series, Rhys Thomas, described the golden retriever as a ‘complete professional’ and loved working with her on set.

He told

: “Jolt is his real name. Just a complete professional. A little easier than some of these people to be honest with you,” he joked. “In fact, I was blessed.”

And the gorgeous goldie, who is four, even has his own Instagram account, now has more than 38,000 followers after the series hit Disney Plus .

The award-winning canine is represented by Animal Casting Atlanta, and has a number of titles under his belt, including The North America Diving Dogs Dock Junior, The American Kennel Club Dock Junior, The American Kennel Club Trick Dog Novice and Trick Dog Intermediate, and The American Kennel Club Achiever Dog.

The acting pup, who lives with handler Jacqui Johnson and his stunt double retriever sister, is no stranger to the camera, having been a model for Amazon products too.

As Lucky the Pizza Dog Jolt was a real scene stealer, but also an important and integral part of the story.

The honorary avenger’s name was originally Arrow, and was saved by archer Clint when he was abused by Tracksuit Mafia member, Ivan Banionis, where he lost his left eye.

The comic book canine barely survived as Hawkeye rushed them to a vet - going on to adopt him, renaming the pup Lucky.

Jolt’s Instagram described the series as ‘a dream’ to work on, after the official trailer offered a quick glimpse of the festive pup.
