Meet Logan Hannah: The Scottish racer making her F1 Academy debut at Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Lining up on an F1 grid is every young racer's dream.

And East Kilbride's Logan Hannah will move a step closer to achieving that goal this weekend, as the 22-year-old makes her F1 Academy debut during the final round of the world championship at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit. Despite it being thousands of miles from her Scottish hometown, it will very much be a home race for Logan - who has lived in the United Arab Emirates for 12 years, and will compete under her adopted country's flag.

Logan has already made racing history as the first female driver to compete in the UAE F4 series, and now takes the step up to F1 Academy - which is a female-only feeder series aiming to help women to reach F1, with the backing of American luggage brand Away. Drivers compete in identical 1.4ltr 174bhp Formula 4 cars - capable of reaching up to 150mph. The Abu Dhabi round will be the seventh, and final, of the season - with Brit Abbie Pulling already crowned the champion.

Logan started competing at the age of just 10 after watching her dad racing - starting in karts in Dubai before moving up the single seater ladder from entry level Formula Fords to championships including British F4 - where future stars Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri and Jack Doohan have all honed their skills.
