Medals galore as West Lothian gymnasts excel at British regional final

Three performers from West Lothian Gymnastics Club represented Team Scotland and returned from the British Gymnastics Regional Final with medals on their debuts.

The competition in Stoke for grades performance 1 and 2, featured three West Lothian athletes in total in the 10-strong team.

Teme Dessi and Zoe Grant competed for Scotland for the first time in the performance grade two competition, showing beautiful routines, with multiple scores counting towards the team total.

Dessi secured her first British medal, finishing first on vault.

Bella Norman competed in the performance grade 1 competition, with clean routines all round and a fabulous vault to finish second, also picking up her first British medal.

A spokesperson for West Lothian Gymnastics Club said: “To qualify to get to these finals is huge and something to be really proud of.

“This was a huge category, with 56 girls, so to then pick up medals against the entire UK category is phenomenal.

“Congratulations girls, a fantastic experience. We are so proud of you all.”

Bella’s mum Fiona said: “As a family we are so proud!”

Meanwhile, the club are now taking bookings for their popular Summer Camps, which are open to all ages and abilities, recreational and competitive, members and non-members are all welcome .
