McGoldrick starts: The predicted Sheffield United XI to face West Brom on Wednesday night

The Blades won last time out, beating Birmingham City 2-1 on Friday night.

That victory took United to 10th in the Championship table and to within three points of their upcoming opponents.

West Brom have found themselves out of form in recent weeks, which has led to a change in manager.

Steve Bruce will be taking charge of his first game at West Brom after being appointed last Thursday.

Here is how we think Paul Heckingbottom’s side will line up on Wednesday night to face West Brom…

Heckingbottom has no new fresh injury concerns to the side that won last weekend.

However, there is every chance he decides to bring Oli McBurnie, David McGoldrick or the recently-recalled Daniel Jebbison into contention.

Morgan Gibbs-White is also close to returning to action for the team, but it is unlikely he will be fit enough for selection on Wednesday evening.

Billy Sharp and Iliman Ndiaye have been Heckingbottom’s preferred front two but, with the fixtures coming thick and fast, he may use this game as a chance to bring in McGoldrick for only his ninth start of the league campaign.

Sharp turned 36 over the weekend, and will need to have his minutes managed over the busy period.
