McDonald’s follows Burger King launching new rewards scheme for free meals

Fast food lovers will soon be able to convert their spends into points at McDonald’s, earning free means with their new loyalty scheme. The MyMcDonald’s rewards app will be available from tomorrow, so customers can start earning straight away.

The programme is available via the McDonald’s App, where shoppers can earn 100 points for every £1 spent. Every penny spent equates to one point, and can be redeemed against menu items, or donated to charity.

Collecting 1,500 points will allow customers to choose between menu items including small fries, hash browns or a side salad. With 2,500 points, a double cheeseburger or vegetable deluxe is on the cards.

Finally, with 4,000 points, worth £4, fans can choose between menu favourites like six chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac.

There is also an option for customers to donate the cash equivalent of their points to BBC Children in Need, FareShare and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Points are converted to a cash donation, with 1,500 points translating to £1.50, 2,500 points becoming £2.50 and 4,000 points seeing the charity partner land a donation of £4.00.

Customers who are opted in to MyMcDonald’s Rewards and order and pay through the McDonald’s App will automatically earn points on their order – this includes McDelivery when ordered via the app. Alternatively, customers can get a one-time code, which is available in the ‘code’ section of the app at the start of their order at Drive-Thru, kiosk or counter to earn points on their order.

Get £5 off when you spend £10 or more at Just Eat by signing up to Topcashback free. You can order McDonalds, KFC or anything from your local takeaway and get £5 in cashback.
