McDonald’s announces menu shakeup as fan-favourite axed from menu this week

McDonald's will soon be scrapping its Christmas menu this week - which means removing the popular Chicken Big Mac.

It comes as the fast food franchise prepares to introduce its new menu on Thursday, January 4. However, it's not all bad news as some classic iconic items will be making a comeback.

Festive treats including The Big & Cheesy and the Chicken Big Mac will be removed in the next couple of days but one of the big items making a comeback this month is the Steakhouse Stack.

The burger features two 100 per cent British and Irish beef patties, a slice of cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onions, and lettuce. All the ingredients are then topped with a black peppercorn sauce sandwiched between freshly toasted buns.

The Fajita Chicken Wrap, which initially launched in 2020, is coming back with a brand new recipe that includes two sauces - a creamy fajita sauce and tomato salsa. It also comes with silvered onions, cheese, and shredded lettuce, encased in a soft, toasted tortilla wrap with either grilled or crispy chicken.

Saver Meal deals will also be returning with three options costing less than a fiver. This includes a cheeseburger meal deal, including medium fries and a drink, for just £3.99. Or you can swap the Cheeseburger for a Mayo Chicken for the same price. Make it a Double Cheeseburger and it'll only set you back £.4.79.

The Chicken Big Mac has proved to be a popular addition to the McDonald's menu since it was added in November, with many customers call on the chain to sell it all year around.
