McDavid, Matthews, Josi nominated for Ted Lindsay Award
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews and Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid are two of the nominees for the NHL's Ted Lindsay Award.
Nashville Predators defenceman Roman Josi is the other nominee, "presented annually to the "most outstanding player" in the NHL as voted by fellow members of the National Hockey League Players' Association."
Matthews earned the Maurice “Rocket” Richard trophy this year as the league’s top goal-scorer after a 60-goal, 106-point season. He is the 21st different player to score 60 goals in an NHL season and the first this decade to accomplish the feat.
McDavid took home the Art Ross trophy after a career season where he scored 44 goals and registered 123 points. The Oilers captain is the reigning Hart Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award winner and has won the latter award three times in his career.
Josi had a career season in 2021-22, recording 23 goals and 95 points in 80 games this season. He is one of the three nominees for the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s best defenceman.
