McCarthy or Zwane? SA soccer fans decide on Baxter replacement at Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs are searching for a new head coach - and we're here to help!
Last week Amakhosi shocked the football fraternity by parting ways with Stuart Baxter, ending the Scotsman's second stint as mentor after 11 months.
Before Baxter returned, Chiefs signed Gavin Hunt on a three-year contract but it was cut short nine months into the deal.
The Glamour Boys now have to start all over again but have they exhausted all their options?
Sport24 has conjured up four names the Motaung family might be interested employing, namely: Benni McCarthy, Arthur Zwane, Cavin Johnson and Muhsin Ertugral.
McCarthy parted ways with AmaZulu last month and has since returned to Scotland to be with his wife and children.
Johnson returned from Egypt last year after a stint as Pitso Mosimane's assistant, while Ertugral has been based in Cape Town, lurking for possible opportunities.
Zwane is now continuing to serve as Chiefs assistant coach and along with Dillion Shepard will oversee first team duties for the remainder of the season while the club searches for Baxter's replacement.
In a Sport24 Twitter poll, 33% of fans voted for McCarthy to get the job at Naturena.
Johnson received 12% of the vote, while former Chiefs coach Ertugral claimed 15% of the favours.
Meanwhile, rather surprisingly, fans gave Zwane 44% of the vote to be the outright winner of the poll.
