Mayo host Derry in pick of preliminary quarter-finals

Mayo will host Derry in the pick of the ties as the draw has been made for the All-Ireland SFC preliminary quarter-finals.

Kevin McStay's side were denied victory in the final seconds of their Group 2 clash with Dublin yesterday, Cormac Costello's fisted point sending the Connacht side to the preliminary quarter-finals.

Their reward is a meeting with league champions Derry, who ended their losing streak with a four-point win over Westmeath in Newry, preserving their interest in the championship.

Connacht champions Galway, held to a draw by Armagh yesterday, will host Monaghan, who overcame Meath in Kingspan Breffni.

Tyrone are at home to Roscommon, the latter securing their first win of the championship against Cavan on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Louth face Cork in an all-Division 2 clash, with Ger Brennan's side to nominate a home venue.
