Max Verstappen delivers Charles Leclerc verdict ahead of Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen has called Charles Leclerc one of the most talented drivers in Formula 1, as the pair gear up for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The second race of the 2022 F1 season is almost upon us already, with the Jeddah Street Circuit hosting the second edition of the Saudi GP.

Indeed, it’ll be going some to replicate the drama we saw at the inaugural race there, where Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton clashed dramatically last year, but we should still be in for an intriguing few days.

Certainly, the potential title fight between Leclerc and Verstappen is one plotline we could see develop over the course of this campaign, with the two going wheel-to-wheel in Bahrain last Sunday.

And, that said, Max has offered some praise for the Ferrari driver, in labelling him one of the most talented on the grid:

“I think Charles is one of the most talented drivers in F1 and will win many more races,” he said to AP Sport.

“I think we are just good competitors and we like to race.”

Max is clearly very respectful of Charles’ talents behind the wheel and both drivers are supremely able when it comes to racing.

It’s quite the surprise to see that Leclerc has only three race wins to his name given his talent, of course, but then the Ferrari has not been quick enough to deliver victories in the last couple of years.

It appears he has the tool available to him this season to stand on the top step once more, though, and so we can surely expect more Max v Charles battles this season, as we saw in Bahrain.
