Max Lowe reveals the mentality that Steve Cooper has instilled in the Nottingham Forest squad

Max Lowe has been in and out with injury issues on his season-long loan at Nottingham Forest from Sheffield United.

However, the former Derby County man stayed put at the City Ground, instead of returning to Bramall Lane for his rehabilitation earlier in the campaign.

The 24-year-old has not played since mid March, while Jack Colback has slotted in admirably at left wing back, but Lowe is the greater attacking outlet and could still go on to make some decisive contributions in the crunch encounters to come this season.

Lowe offered his insight into the mentality that Steve Cooper has instilled in the squad when he spoke to The Athletic.

He said: “We do not fear anyone.

“There is no player I have come up against that has made me think, ‘I need to be on the back foot’.

“The gaffer wants us to be positive, on the front foot all over the pitch.

“We are all confident and believe we can run over teams.

“That is why we score a lot of goals.

“We keep going in games, we never change our approach.

“It was not great at the start here.

“But once the gaffer came in, things changed so quickly.

“I cannot speak highly enough about the club.”

Forest can still snatch automatic promotion from the Championship in the final three games of the season, however they cannot afford any slip-ups or Bournemouth may build an unassailable lead.

The Verdict

It speaks volumes to the environment that Cooper has created, that Lowe has stayed so invested in the club’s season despite spending so long out of the team.
