Mauricio Pochettino wants Manchester United to complete Harry Kane signing if he becomes manager

Mauricio Pochettino will want Manchester United to sign Harry Kane if he becomes manager at Old Trafford, according to reports.

It’s understood that Pochettino already has the backing from several members of United’s squad to replace Ralf Rangnick this summer.

The Argentine’s future at Paris Saint-Germain remains unclear, with reports claiming that the French club already have an agreement in place with Zinedine Zidane.

Kane, meanwhile, wanted to join Manchester City last summer but the Premier League champions were unable to agree a deal with Spurs, even though they were willing to spend £130 million on the England captain.

The 28-year-old thrived under Pochettino at Spurs and according to The Telegraph, the Argentine would urged United to make a move for his former player if he replaced Rangnick in the dugout.

Kane has made it clear to Spurs that he wants to leave in order to improve his chances of winning a trophy but has been buoyed by the arrival of Antonio Conte.

Pochettino, meanwhile, admits he is in the dark over his future at PSG.

When asked about the possibility of Zidane replacing him at PSG, Pochettino told Cadena SER this week: ‘I don’t know, it’s not up to me to decide.

‘Zidane is a great coach, he already showed it at Real Madrid. He can train anywhere in the world. In addition to this, he’s French. That is one more question for the sporting director or the president.
