After 20 months in charge, Tuchel was sacked by the Blues on Wednesday morning following Tuesday night’s defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in their opening Champions League group match.
Chelsea intend to talk to Graham Potter to replace the German coach with Brighton giving the Blues permission to hold talks with the 47-year-old.
Potter’s release clause is understood to be around £16million, with Brighton not planning to stand in the way of conversations around a move to west London.
Pochettino however is also on Chelsea’s radar and according to The Athletic and would ‘be open to the possibility’ of taking the vacant role.
The Argentine previously replaced Tuchel at Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 and has been out of work since his sacking in the French capital at the end of last season.
Pochettino spent six years in charge of Chelsea’s fierce rivals Tottenham, leading the club through their most successful Premier League period despite failing to end their trophy drought, reaching the Champions League final in 2019.
Since being sacked by Spurs later that year, Pochettino has been strongly linked with the Manchester United on job on a number of occasions and interviewed for the role earlier this year.
Erik ten Hag however was appointed ahead of him.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes a move for Pochettino would make the most sense for Chelsea, with the 50-year-old available immediately.
