Mauricio Pochettino 'one of the best options' for Manchester United

Mauricio Pochettino has been described as 'one of the best options' for Manchester United as they search for their next permanent manager.

Erik ten Hag has already been interviewed for the vacant managerial position, with the MEN Sport reporting that Ten Hag is the United board's preferred candidate in the race for the position. United are unwilling to rule out other candidates for the role and are still open to other possible options.

Pochettino is one of those being considered as an alternative to Ten Hag. And, according to former United midfielder Kleberson, the Argentine would be the ideal man to take United forward.

He told Paddy Power : "A lot of good names have been linked to the Manchester United manager job. It’s hard because most managers already have commitments to clubs and Manchester United have a strong culture in the team. Whoever they bring in must understand the players and the culture of the club.

"The manager doesn’t have to bring a new methodology to the club, but they need a new philosophy. For me, there’s one good coach who can join United and that’s Mauricio Pochettino.

"He’s managed in England before and has shown how good a coach he is. He’s going through a tough period at PSG at the moment but he’s still one of the best options for Manchester United."

PSG currently sit top of Ligue 1 but were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid in the Round of 16. A Karim Benzema hat-trick at the Bernabeu overturned a two-goal deficit to see Real progress at the expense of Pochettino's side.
