Matteo Guendouzi has already shown Mikel Arteta why Arsenal must avoid Raphinha 'Plan B' move

Arsenal signing another winger or forward alongside Gabriel Jesus in the transfer window must be considered a necessity. Mikel Arteta needs an extra goal source in his team to further support the forward line in the next campaign.

Raphinha seemed to be the answer to fill this void but a deal has fallen through. According to Spanish news outlet Fichjaes, The Gunners have targeted Club Brugge Winger Noa Lang as the Plan B to Raphinha.

Despite the promising potential Lang possesses, he is not the answer for the Gunners. Alongside doubts about immediately being able to adapt and contribute with goals, the previous criticism about his attitude certainly would not make him favourable under Arteta.

Lang has been impressive for Brugge since his move to the Belgian side in 2020. However, he has not shown the quality which would improve Arteta's firepower at Arsenal. The Gunners need more goals in the team and Lang’s statistics means that this would not be promised.

The Dutchman scored seven goals in 37 league matches and failed to score in his side’s Champions League group stage matches last season. His all-around play was impressive, but Arsenal are already equipped with these types of players on the wing with young stars in the ranks such as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Lang recently admitted in an interview with Dutch news outlet Het Laatste Nieuws that Arsenal tried to sign him in the January transfer window with Italian news outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport claiming him to cost around £25million. However, Lang has consistently been criticised for problems concerning his attitude throughout his career, which is another reason Arsenal should avoid his signature.
