Matt Doherty captain as Evan Ferguson starts in Amsterdam

Matt Doherty has been named captain as Ireland take on the Netherlands at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.

The Wolves defender will start at right wing-back for tonight's final Euro 2024 qualification clash against a Dutch side who are looking to secure automatic qualification with a win.

Evan Ferguson has been passed fit to start having recovered fully from a concern earlier in the week, and he will be accompanied up front by Callum Robinson.

Stephen Kenny has opted for a three-man defence with Dara O'Shea getting the nod alongside Nathan Collins and Liam Scales, while Ryan Manning will start at left wing-back.

Josh Cullen will anchor the midfield alongside Jason Knight and Alan Browne, while Gavin Bazunu remains in goal, as Ireland's failed campaign comes to a close.
