“Matches Newcastle’s ambition” – Journalist now reacts to amazing link to superstar 750 G/A duo

Reports linking Newcastle United to superstar strikers Harry Kane and Thomas Muller are indicative of the ambition being shown by the club’s new owners, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Magpies became one of the richest clubs in world football following the takeover of a Saudi-backed consortium last year and they have already invested significantly in the playing squad.

In the recently concluded January transfer window, the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF) sanctioned five signings for the relegation-threatened outfit.

The likes of Kieran Trippier, Bruno Guimaraes and Chris Wood arrived last month for just over £90 million as manager Eddie Howe aims to maintain their Premier League status come May.

And if the 44-year-old tactician does manage to keep Newcastle in the top-flight, then bigger names are expected to grace St. James’ Park next season.

According to Sport Bild, the North-East outfit are ‘already trying to get’ Muller after the prolific forward revealed ‘no one has ever approached’ him about a new contract.

The German international only has 18 months remaining on his existing deal, opening the door to a possible exit, and he could be joined by another goalscoring sensation should he make the switch to Newcastle.

Transfer insider Dean Jones recently told GiveMeSport that Kane is another potential target on the Toon Army’s radar as they begin to line up some previously ‘unthinkable’ deals.
