Mason Greenwood shares rare glimpse into family life in Spain with birthday message

Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood has wished his partner and 'best mum' Harriet Robson a happy birthday on Instagram.

The 22-year-old is currently playing for La Liga club Getafe and notched an assist on Sunday during his team's 3-2 victory over Celta Vigo. On Monday, Greenwood took to Instagram to share a couple of pictures of Robson to celebrate her birthday.

As a caption, the forward wrote: "Happy birthday to the best mum, love you," and tagged Robson who turned 24 on Monday in the story. Greenwood is expected to leave United at the end of his loan spell in Spain and has notched seven goals and five assists in 23 appearances so far this season.

Greenwood was suspended by United in January 2022 amid allegations of attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour. A lengthy investigation into the case then followed, with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) dropping all charges against Greenwood in February 2023.

A United statement at the time read: "Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped. The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps. We will not make any further comment until that process is complete."

At the conclusion of the investigation, United agreed a loan deal to Getafe for Greenwood on the summer transfer window's deadline day. The 22-year-old will have another year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford at the end of his stint in Spain with Atletico Madrid one of the clubs reportedly interested in signing the winger.
